Future Classic: Reimagining Icons, Rethinking Space

At Clerkenwell Design Week 2025, Davison Highley invites visitors into a reimagined showroom that embodies a new era of workplace thinking. Framed by the theme Future Classic: Reimagining Icons, Rethinking Space, the refreshed layout introduces settings that prioritise softness, comfort and emotional intelligence. At its core is a belief that true sustainability lies not only in materials, but in timeless design – creating pieces with a classic aesthetic that endure beyond trends, resisting the pull of fast fashion in furniture.

Headlining is the relaunch of Skylon – originally introduced 12 years ago, now reimagined with contemporary versatility. Taking cues from its namesake, the soaring Festival of Britain landmark, the new Skylon includes high and low back chairs & sofas, modular corner options and irresistible comfort. It’s a quiet nod to mid-century optimism, updated for the modular office.

Also debuting is Roam, a collection of upholstered planters that function as Biophilic room dividers. With a tactile finish and integrated troughs ready for planting, Roam is both grounded and mobile – designed for spaces that are always in flux. Its range of sizes make it adaptable, while the upholstered exterior brings a softness and warmth to the workplace.

Visitors will also rediscover Rolo, launched at the close of 2024 and already making an impact in atriums and open-plan spaces. With exaggerated curves and statement proportions, Rolo balances drama and comfort, bringing a residential influence and hospitality-inspired warmth for a more relaxed aesthetic.

Following a February rebrand, the showroom also reflects an updated identity. With the promise of Exceptional Furniture for Exceptional Spaces, Davison Highley invites the design community to rediscover their legacy – through fresh eyes.

On Wednesday 21 May 2025, Davison Highley invites visitors to a Breakfast Talk with sustainability consultant James Bell: “Beyond Selective Sustainability: A Holistic Approach to Sustainable Furniture” – a reminder that sustainability goes beyond material choices or isolated initiatives. It requires a holistic commitment to every stage of a product’s lifecycle to ensure a lasting impact.
