The history behind Davison Highley

Davison Highley is a 3rd generation family firm located in the picturesque Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire, in Piddington, near to High Wycombe.

Marshal Davison began his upholstery business in 1929, situated in Grays Inn Road, London under the name Rolls upholstery.

The business moved out from London to Hendon during the Second World War. Then, when Barry Davison took over as MD in 1979, we moved again to a larger furniture factory near High Wycombe, itself dating from the early 1900’s.

At this point we re-branded as Davison Highley.

As the business developed we grew to occupy some 24,000 sq ft of our own workshop and studio space, taking over a large amount of the original factory building.

The Piddington Workshop has been a furniture factory since the early 1900’s, the room in the image on the right is now our office.

Initially, we specialised in custom built upholstered furniture, working with our clients in both the architecture and design fields, and this is still an important element of our business.

In more recent years we have carefully designed and developed our own distinctive and innovative collection of the highest quality upholstered furniture which is being enjoyed in all the corners of the globe and has won many awards.

Each element from design to delivery is under our personal control, and this ensures that we are able to maintain our unequalled customer satisfaction record.

The business is now under the control of the third generation of Davison family members, with Toby Davison as our Managing Director.
